It's either the front wheel, the back wheel, or the pedals and chain. Lift the bike off the ground and turn the front wheel by hand. If it doesn't turn very freely, it could be the hand-brake is dragging or the hub bearing is too tight. Try the back wheel in both directions. USA. Apr 2, 2015. #4. It should take a good push. Try to gently spin it with a wrench and see if everything feels alright. If you have any doubts you may want to take it to a shop. This is one of those things you need to see and feel, hard to diagnose online. Your "doesn't spin well" might be my "wow, spins great".

First thing that happens... the plastic chain guard on the rear sprockets that keeps the chain from going into the spokes breaks. It gets lopsided and starts rubbing so I cut it out of there. Now the rear wheel does not spin freely. I have a 2020 Allez with the stock Axis wheels. The front wheel spins down to a stop after maybe 15-20 seconds. There isn't really any noticeable resistance or grinding. It just stops spinning quite a bit faster than other bikes I tried. I took the cap(?) thing off the hub that covers the bearings and it seems to be clean and well greased.

A seized bottom bracket is another potential reason why your rear wheels might not be spinning freely. Bottom brackets also have a lifespan. And they can break down if you use them too often or if the time has finally come for them to be replaced entirely. On two different bikes that were practically brand new, I had to fix a flat on the rear tire. When I get all done, I put the tire back on, male sure the tire isn't hitting the frame or the brakes, and that it is spinning freely. Well it keeps passing the first two tests but then it keeps dragging to stop like it is rubbing a brake pad. Then hold the brake lever while tightening the bolts. You may have to do it a second time with a thicker spacer (paper) if it still rubs the stationary pad. 2. With the mounting screws loose, adjust the stationary pad in a bit. (It's probably adjusted all the way out since it's new.) Hold the lever and tighten the mounting bolts.

No, hold it by the end caps - the things that press against the inside of the dropouts - so that the wheel rotates by the bearings. What I'm. Humihinto agad yung gulong kapag pinaikot? Rather important, as you have already noticed, the wheel won't spin freely otherwise. Ideally you should take the cassette out, clean the cup properly, put in as many bearings as they will fit in the circumference, and then take one out. That will be the correct number of bearings.

Ive got a 2015 KTM 125 sx, the rear wheel has had no problems until just a couple days ago when I was prepping to go ride this weekend. I put my bike on the stand and in neutral and spun my back wheel but there was something that was holding it back from spinning freely, the spin would completely stop after about 2 or 3 seconds.

First, there will be a telltale auditory cue: get off your bike and spin your wheels. If you heat a metallic scraping sound, that's the brake pad rubbing against the rotor. You'll also notice your wheel won't spin freely. Depending on how close your brake pads are, the wheel may not spin very much at all. Yes, you should expect and ensure that the rear wheel spins freely, but keep in mind that it will never spin as freely as the bike’s front wheel. There is a freewheel and at least two additional bearings in the rear wheel, which drags. In some cases, the rear wheel will spin freely until you set the quick-release skewer.

Remove the wheel from the dropouts, which might require a spanner. Most wheels build in recent years can be removed by hand. Insure the hub is not damaged. If the hub is damaged, it should be repaired or replaced by a bike mechanic. Reset the wheel. Be sure the axle is sitting firmly in the dropouts.

Now that it is back on something isn't right. When i tighten the axle nut to spec, the rear wheel is not spinning freely like it used to. I have checked rear brake, it is not interfering with it. I am not sure what it could be. any input would be greatly appreciated. F4sSprintST Registered Joined Oct 4, 2007 15,272 Posts #2 · Dec 8, 2011.

The rear will never spin as freely as the front. There's a freewheel and at least two additional bearings in the rear wheel, all of which add drag. Test as tlg suggested, wheel off the bike turn the axle by hand. If it stiff or rough at all then there's a problem. Rough means a bad bearing. Stiff is either a bad bearing or bad preload adjustment. I recently ran over a nail and needed a new tire. I got the wheel off fine, but when replacing the wheel, two things have me a little unsure. First, If I torque the rear axle nut to 47lb/ft it will not spin very freely at all. If I back it off to about 38-39 or so it will feel tight, but spin freely as it should. Jan 13, 2015. #1. I just changed the chain and sprockets on my '02 YZ426F and the rear wheel doesn't spin so great with the bike on the stand. Maybe half a turn when I try to spin it by hand. The chain is within spec (while on the tighter side), axle is straight and the pads are dragging a little bit but not a lot.

. The RD is incorrectly mounted, the retaining screw and nut should be in the slot of the drop out, with the shaped inner surface mating with the sides of the slot. This will bring the plate of the RD down and provide a full surface for the nut to lock onto, and the gap shown in your pic will longer exist. Find Reply einstrine New Member.
